Dental Implants Are Common, Viable and Highly Successful
Dental implants are designed to provide a foundation for the replacement of teeth that look, feel, and function exactly like natural teeth.
If you have lost teeth, you can regain the ability to eat virtually anything and can smile with confidence, knowing that your teeth will appear perfectly natural and that the contours of your face will be flawlessly preserved.
The implants themselves are tiny titanium posts that are placed into the jawbone where teeth are missing. The bone bonds easily with the titanium, creating a strong foundation for the artificial teeth. In addition, implants can help preserve facial structure, preventing the bone deterioration that occurs when teeth are missing.
Dental implants are changing the way people live!
People are rediscovering the comfort and confidence to eat, speak, laugh and enjoy life thanks to dental implants.

Evaluation
If you, like so many others, feel implant dentistry may be the right choice for you, we'd like to offer a dental/radiographic examination in our office where we will evaluate your candidacy and health history. During these consultation visits, Dr. Rabin will address your specific needs, considerations and questions. Your questions and concerns are important to us; and our team will work with you closely to help make your procedure a success.
We will also discuss fees and insurance during consultation. There are many types of insurance plans. Coverage for implants varies by carrier and policy. We will be happy to assist you in obtaining any benefits to which you may be entitled as well as explain any payment options outside of your plan.
Procedures
Dental implants are metal anchors that act as a substitute for natural tooth roots that are surgically placed into the jawbone. Small posts are then attached to the implants to provide stable anchors in the gums for replacement teeth, which are more durable than your original teeth, and every bit as natural in function and appearance.
For most patients, the placement of dental implants involves two surgical procedures. First, implants are placed within your jawbone. For the first three to six months following surgery, the implants are beneath the surface of the gums gradually bonding with the jawbone. You should be able to wear temporary dentures and eat a soft diet during this time. During this time, Dr. Rabin will design your final bridgework or denture, which will ultimately improve both function and aesthetics.
After the implant has bonded to the jawbone, the second phase can begin. Dr. Rabin will uncover the implants and attach a small healing collar. Two weeks later your general dentist will be able to start making your new teeth from your new, custom impression. Posts or attachments can be connected to the implants. The teeth replacements are then built over these posts or attachments. The entire procedure usually takes four to six months from beginning to end. Most patients don't experience any more disruption in their daily lives than they would for a traditional dental appointment.
IMPLANTS IN A DAY
With today's technology it is possible to receive implants in a day. If you have a fractured or decayed tooth that must be extracted, you may be able to have the entire process done in a single day. In some cases we are able to extract the tooth, place the implant and/or perform the necessary grafting, and have a temporary crown placed, all within a single visit.
